I'm pretty sure only one person has the URL to this journal, so for the moment it will be a little more private than my LJ. Since moving my friend here and I have joined yahoo personals, mostly out of boredom, and because its free. Now mostly, I have gotten messages from creepy 40 year old guys are creepy younger ones, but there have been two really interesting people whom I have been talking with. One is about 23 and works with mutual funds in the Hancock Building in Copley Square. He's nice..pretty cute, about 5'8 or something, and likes Buffy. We've actually gone out twice now, once for lunch, and once to a movie..but I'm not sure if theres any "spark."
The second person Ive been talking to is the more interesting, and the more complicated I think. So let me begin by talking about the amazing things about him. He's very cute, about 5'7, he graduated from Harvard, he cooks, he has a job at The Children's Hospital of Boston and works as a scientist for the cardiovascular department. So basically he gets to sit in on surgeries and then tries to come up with technical ways to create better treatments. Come on. Thats pretty badass.
Now for the complicated parts. Well..he got a postdoctoral degree from Harvard. And now is faculty at Harvard teaching grad students. Thats right..he teaches..AT HARVARD. But that also means that he's old. Not obscenly old in my opinon..but sort of old. Ok. He's 34. But for real..he dosen't old..or act old. And I mean..really..is that really so old? I'm not sure. And maybe..it won't even matter..cause we went out once and it was really fun..and there was definently more spark or whatever than the other guy. But watch this not even evolve into anything, so really, I'm just worrying about pros and cons for no reason. Agh.
And on a final note. While some people may see using an online personals site as sort of sketch..how much sketchier is it than meeting people at a bar? And how else would one meet someone who isn't in their field, at their school, or in their group of friends?
